News

Hopefully all fresher’s who wanted to see what we’re about managed to make it to a taster session over the last 2 weeks and enjoyed it enough to join! All the taster sessions are over(hotdog) now so it’s members only from here on in. There’s loads coming up in the next few weeks though…

Training
-RYA Level 1 course will be running for beginners on Wednesday afternoons from 14th Oct, meeting at the bridge at 1pm.
-There’s been loads of interest in Powerboat / 1st aid certs. We’ll get courses organised some time soon, more details to follow.
-Also lots of Interest in windsurfing training, which is new to the club for this year. To be organised soon, more details to follow.

Racing
-Race training to be run by Roman on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons.
-BUSA Fleet racing at QMSC on 11th/12th November.

Social
-Pub Sail was awesome, shame on you if you missed it! Photos are up on James’ profile.
-2nd iteration of the epic BUSC Devon surf trip will be on 30th Oct to 1st November (Friday Night to Sunday night) contact Cat to express interest.

Freshers 2009

Freshers’ week approacheth for you lucky new Brunelians, and the BUSC have a host of events to get involved with over the next couple of weeks.

Tuesday 22 September - Freshers’ Fayre

A good chance to check out all the clubs and societies available to you at Brunel, but more importantly an opportunity to meet some members of the sailing club and sign up for membership. You can’t miss us, look out for the fully rigged 16 foot long RS 800 in the main hall.

Wednesday 30 September - Freshers’ Taster Sailing & Pub Crawl

Get out on the water and give sailing a try in our first taster session. After that an opportunity to sample the fine drinking establishments of the Uxbridge. Again Meet at 1pm on the bridge by the sports hall. Later on we will be meeting at 6 pm in Locos.

We’ll transport you from Brunel to the Queen Mother reservoir where you can spend the day indulging in the three activities we do best at BUSC: sailing, eating and drinking. Meet at 1pm on the bridge by the sports hall.
